What exactly is CellGrab?

CellGrab is a WAP file upload service. Users upload their desired file from their computer to our web site and then use the WAP web browser built in to their cell phone or visit our WAP site at wap.cellgrab.com where they can "grab" their file and store it onto their cell phone. This is a popular method for transferring pictures, videos, ringtones, music, java games, documents and more to a mobile phone without the need for a special data cables or any other cell phone accessory. The best part is that CellGrab is available worldwide from any cell phone with a WAP enabled web browser, which is 99% of phones on the market today!

Is your CellGrab really FREE?

Yes, CellGrab is really 100% free as it is supported by our advertisers. There's no registration necessary to use our site either! However, by using this site you may incur charges through your cellular provider if you do not have an internet access plan. Check the details of your particular plan for further information. Usually, in North America, the charges for WAP usage without a plan, are very small.

What types of files can I upload?

• Audio: mid, midi, mp3, mmf, amr, aac

Can I upload mp3's to my cell phone?

Yes - if your phone supports it. Not all phones support this but most newer phones will. Use this at your own risk! If you can't upload mp3's to your phone from our site, try a ringtone service!

Are images resized to fit on my phone?

Our upload service does not resize your images to fit on your phone for you automatically . You will need to resize images youself before uploading.

My favorite animated GIF doesn't work on my phone.

Sorry, but lots of phones do not support GIF files at all. Few phones can actually view animated GIFs properly.

Your uploader isn't working! What can I do?

If you have an issue that is not covered in this FAQ, please contact us and we will try to help all that we can! Please include the phone type and as many details as possible about the problem. If this has to do with a file you are trying to upload, please include that in the email as well.

Common problems:

• Your phone doesn't recognize the type of file you are sending. Make sure that you are sending either a png, gif, jpg images or midi sounds. Check your phones documentation to see what it supports.
• Animated gif files are usually not accepted by the phone. You will need to change it or just use the first frame of the gif image.
• Make sure your file name isn't too long. If possible, keep the filename under 10-15 characters. If the filename has spaces and weird characters, our uploader will automatically convert them.

Why does my phone say I need to download a plug-in?

Your phones trying to decode a file it doesn't support. For example: If you try and downloaded an mp3 file and your phones doesn't support it, you will get this sort of message.

My phone says it can't guarantee the authenticity of the file I'm downloading when using this site. Why?

This is only a warning letting you know that the file is not being downloaded directly from your provider. Go ahead and press continue to download the file.
